Experience A Wild At Heart Boot Camp Poconos

By Tanisha Berg

The term boot camp tends to conjure up images of men performing intense physical activities. A wild at heart boot camp Poconos has a different purpose. It is a camp for men only and the purpose is to give men the opportunity to discover what God intends them to be. It often results in men getting their hearts back and recovering their true nature. As a consequence they begin to live life differently and passionately.

These camps are usually held in settings away from the city and suburban life. The men are given an opportunity to spend time with God in nature. They also experience fellowship with one another and find many opportunities for sharing, man to man.

Sessions are held and various men present teachings that help to dispel misconceptions about what men are meant to be. They are not just meant to be dutiful, responsible and loyal. There is another side of man that is ignored and this is the wild, adventurous, passionate side. Without this side they are just shells of who they are really meant to be.

Camps have been held all over the world since a book called Wild at Heart was written by John Eldridge. In the book he inspires men to discover the desires of their hearts. One of these desires is a desire for adventure. These camps offer men the opportunity for adventure with many outdoor activities.

Men often receive a revelation for the first time about their warrior side. Jesus confronted culture, religion and tradition and they are also meant to fight the fight of faith as warriors. They receive a renewed sense of purpose.

Many men report having experienced healing of wounds at such camps. These wounds are often received because of the expectations of others. They have often lived with these wounds all their lives and it has affected their relationships and the way they live life. When healing and restoration comes, they can live life fully and passionately once more. This often has an effect on all their relationships.

Their relationships with their wives often change as a result of the changes to their own hearts. Women battle to relate to weak, apathetic men. As they discover themselves, so their wives start to see a strength in them that they admire. Men are encouraged to fight for a woman and to love her as Christ loves the church.

Many men report that a camp like this changed their lives and freed them to live passionately and from the heart. They reconnected with God and developed a new intimacy with Him thereby releasing their true nature. Impediments to emotional and spiritual vitality were overcome bringing healing. They experienced freedom from trying to be what others want them to be and instead started discovering what God had made them to be.
