Advices On Church Capital Campaign

By Dominique Martin

Whenever your organization is planning on renovating or building an establishment, there would be a lot of aspects that should be considered. A lot of these would include manpower, legalities, finances, marketing and fundraising, location planning, endowments, maintenance, and then a feasibility study. These are most likely the aspects that are needed when creating an establishment.

Being able to execute the construction or maybe a renovation would need both science and art. A church capital campaign may need to have a beautiful mix of traditional and modern ways. The foundation lies both in the Old and New Testament with examples that involve in applying truths from these scriptures. This is basically a building campaign which takes in effort from the church to raise funds in a short amount of time for financing the construction and renovation of a building.

There is a certain difference with this campaign compared to every others like for universities and schools, museums, hospitals, etc. For this kind, it deals with the principle for Christian Stewardship. The foundation is built on that lifestyle which the responsibilities and the values are from the word of God.

This would all depend on how the procedures and planning are being done. The donors or givers have the most special role for this as well, and the time it would take to accomplish this would highly depend on them as well. There would be some who would commit then and there, but of course, it should be anticipated that there are those who need time to think, prioritize, and pray over their decisions.

There are a few mistakes that would be encountered during these phases. The committee needs to be equipped with a feasibility study or a congregational readiness survey in order to make a comprehensive plan in what essential elements that is needed. This is a project that is too important for anyone to apply blind faith on.

Having the project publicized too early would also contribute to the failure of the entire project. Most of the donations and funds that are being received during this face would be minimal and would not be enough to fully support everything. That is why it is very crucial to privately meet the members and other donors that have high contributions in order to solidify the foundation of the campaign.

This has to be done properly from the beginning until it lasts. The usual notion that the success of the publicity period is the actual success of the entire project is not true. It actually depends on the beginning phase and the last phases. The last would certify the members and their loyalty and the beginning would give a foundation enough for the entire campaign to finish.

Making assumptions from givers would be a mistake as well. It is not one hundred percent certain that everyone in the church would be able to give equal support and value of assistance for the campaign and therefore miscalculating this would lead to a higher possibility of failure. It is not worth the risk, instead carefully plan and make solid implementations on the right ways of doing this.

Referring and consulting a professional would be a sure way to make things smoother and a lot less riskier. Since this is a campaign that is entirely different from others, then it should be provided with adequate attention in order for it to succeed completely. The committee should be able to decide on which firm to refer to, since this can either make or break the whole process.
