The Seton Miracles And The Marian Foundation

By Amanda Murphy

Whether at a cathedral in Washington D. C. Or other locations, there have been a number of reports with regards to statues which appear to be weeping. While this is the case, the Marian Foundation believes that when followers of Jesus accept the miracle as true, events increase in occurrence over time. In order to prove past experiences, the Seton Miracles have documented these and other stories of religious miracles throughout history.

A book sponsored by the foundation provides detailed information on weeping statues and other miracles as each unfolded. Beyond the miracles, the book also provides full color pictures of the weeping statues. Whereas, there is also a discussion regarding other statues which have been seen weeping and a detailed rebuttal with regards to skeptical challengers.

Most recently, the foundation released a DVD with eye witnesses whom have testified as to having seen these miraculous events first hand. In addition to the book and DVD, there are also beautiful note cards which feature color pictures of the weeping Madonnas. While some are more realistic than others, it is important to acknowledge those which are most memorable while dismissing others which appear to be a hoax.

As with all things supernatural, there are a number of people whom have attempted to debunk or dismiss the stories of the statues as nothing more than a hoax. In some cases, skeptics believe the statues were made with the ability to shed tears so when an owner adds water to the statue it comes out the eyes. Although, those whom have experienced not only the miracle but an apparition of the Mother Mary, have no doubt that these weeping statues are the real.

In Japan, there is one statue, Our Lady Of Akita, whom has been reported to weep. While this is the case, other locations seem to host statues of the Mother Mary. At the same time, the people of Japan can now watch the tears of the Virgin Mary on television. In either case, it is interesting to note that a number of statues around the world have been rumored to weep.

With all the other scandals going on with regards to the Catholic Church, the church has been extremely careful in responding to the reports of these weeping statues. In fact, the church has set very high standards with regards to which stories are believable. For, there have been associated hoax as is the case in Messina, Sicily where the statue of Pio of Pietrelcina bled tears which later proved to the tears of a local woman which proved the incident to be nothing more than a hoax.

When it comes to hoaxes, there are most likely far more practical jokes and pranks than there are authentic statues whom shed tears. Whether made of blood or water, skeptics suggest anyone can make a doll or mannequin whom can be made to release tears. Whereas, eyewitnesses suggest having seen these statues weep, along with apparitions of the Mother Mary.

Like skeptics, rationalists have also dismissed the statues as being fake in order to create a purely psychological phenomenon. In fact, many believe the eye witnesses whom have viewed the statues first hand as insane, or are participating as part of a larger group of believers which in an altered state can believe almost anything to be true.
