Over this period of Yam Kippur, people believe that the creator have put on record in his holy book. Whoever commits sin is booked and will pay for the sins. The book is locked in a way that nobody can interfere with the records. On the eve of this day, people throw their sins in a ritual known as Tashlich or to cast out. People prepare loaves of bread and gather in a congregation. They identify a water body where they walk for long before making this ritual. Someone appointed as a leader in the synagogue leads them in reciting prayers. Thereafter, they throw the bread in the water to symbolize casting away of their sins.

On the eve of Atonement people do come together in unity to they please their holy one. They carry a chicken to the occasion. The people who are in charge of synagogue are requested to slaughter the bird. After holding several communications with God, they then proceed to give the offering to the poor community. This expresses unity and forgiveness to people.

There are different materials that are used to show solidarity and peace in our community. The doves are used in many nations to show peace. This is also important to the Jewish community as they dress in white colors to symbolize the important of peace and togetherness. This brings together people who hold grudge for one another and make peace so that they can have a new beginning.
