Dangers Of Video Surveillance Orlando, Florida

By Raymond Murray

Our world keeps moving faster, and with this advancement we find ourselves losing precious privacy in our daily lives. Most of us accept this trade-off, but there are true reasons for everyone to be concerned. We must ask just how far has the Sunshine State gone with their video surveillance Orlando, Florida.

Some boundaries seem like they would be fairly obvious. However, this is not a cut-and-dried issue, as many people who embrace their privacy also pay for security systems in their homes that include cameras in nearly every room. This can potentially allow less scrupulous individuals employed by these companies to watch people when they are not supposed to be doing so.

Becoming accustomed to being observed by employers or coworkers is something many of us will have to face. Retail employees have long understood that they are on camera all day long, and those cameras are generally out in the open. However, office environment employers also use cameras on their workforce, but sometimes they are better hidden and easily overlooked.

While customers at most establishments accept that they are being watched while inside the store, there are many retail establishments who also have cameras outside. This is a favorable safety feature for places with a large parking lot. However, one might not realize just how many times they get caught on outside CCT cameras while walking down a city street, or loitering outside a gas station.

Most everyone would agree that inside bathrooms, changing areas, and within hotel rooms video cameras are strictly not allowed. However, those living in apartments or even subdivisions might not realize how many cameras are outside. Not only that, but how many of those cameras are capable of viewing us in our own back yards, or through an open window.

With many residents living in apartment or condominium style communities, they must be aware of the risks involved in keeping any windows free of blinds and curtains. The cameras set up in the parking lot can certainly be looking inside your home as well. Those who are not paying attention to this fact could be taken quite unaware at just how often they are watched, by neighbors as well as apartment management.

As privacy fades, it is up to us to keep this tendency from pushing too far forward. We all have a right to know what the rules of engagement are, and certainly we need to take responsibility for our personal awareness of the matter. It is for us insist on knowing when, where, and why we are watched to keep this invasion limited, and also to ensure it functions as the crime deterrent it was supposedly intended to be.

Living in a city that boasts family destinations has drawbacks, and the presence of cameras everywhere is one of them. In order to ensure the safety of children, much of this level of watchfulness is necessary. However, it is up to us to keep tabs on just how far this goes in our surroundings.
