What One Should Know About A Two Wheel Scooter

By Betty Phillips

Today, innovations and technological advancements are leading the way into the achievement of products that were only imaginable a few years ago. A good example of such a product is a two wheel scooter, also called a self-balancing two-wheeled board or scooter. It is a portable vehicle powered by a rechargeable battery, although some models are currently powered by electricity.

The vehicle consists of two wheels that are arranged side-by-side as opposed to one coming after the other lie in the case of a bike. The two wheels are joined together by a platform over which the rider stands. Balancing is achieved through an internal balancing mechanism, which is usually covered from view by the platform on which the rider stands. The accuracy and reaction time of various balancing mechanisms vary among various models.

The standing platform also covers and protects the controls, which are located on the interior side. The standing platform contains built-in hygroscopic, sensored platform, which allows the rider to control the device with their feet. The device originally came from China but was made popular by the adoption by American celebrities. No universal name is used to refer to it. The name of the distributor is used instead of that of the manufacturing company in China.

The Chinese industry is growing so fast that it is hard to identify the specific company that invented and first produced the gadget. However, Shane Chen and Chic Robotics are among the inventors that have made claims of ownership. For instance, Chen, a Chinese businessman claimed to be the inventor and that companies stole the idea. Patent battles have been ongoing over ownership of this invention.

Many American celebrities including Jamie Foxx, Kendall Jenner, Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, and Soulja Boy are directly responsible for making the scooter popular. They exist on videos riding the scooters and sometimes falling off hilariously. Members of the public followed their suit and started buying the product. There are many brands today including Monorover, Esway, Airboard, Cyboard, Swagway, Roadrunner, and Monoboard. All brands vary in many aspects.

Among the most variable aspects of various models of the vehicle are speed, weight, and range. The fastest model can travel at a speed slightly above 20 km/h, while the slowest can travel at lower than 10 km/h. Speed is an internal factor and depends on the engineering specifications of the manufacturer.

The weight also varies diversely and does not usually determine the speed. Most brands produced so far weigh above 100 kilograms, but stay below 150 kilograms. With more research and ever growing sophistication in technology, the vehicles are likely to move with higher speeds and weight much less. The range has stayed below 25 kilometers and above 10 kilometers in most popular brands.

The vehicles can be bought from local stores as well as online stores such as Alibaba, Amazon, and eBay. Prices quoted usually include shipping costs to the destination. Most distributors sell various models, allowing buyers a wide choice.
