An Article On A Male Perspective On Divorce

By Lelia Hall

By definition, divorce is simply the termination of a marriage, whereby the bonds of matrimony between married couples are dissolved, making them two separate individuals. It is usually done under divorce laws which vary according to the state in which they are applied. Everyone has their own view of this process and below is a male perspective on divorce.

To start with, there are those who take divorce as a way out of a troubled marriage. These are the ones who do not have it in them to stick around long enough to try working on their problems. Instead, a decision is made to flee away from what they fear most. This is termed as the search of greener pastures. However, no one ever really knows whether the grass is really greener on other side.

To others, family comes first. The idea of them having their children being raised by single parents drives them insane and they make a decision to stay no matter what challenges they face. The love of their little ones leads them to view separation as a vice which should be done away with as it torture the people they cared deeply about.

Divorce is a social norm. It is also against the faith which most people live by and this is what makes the religious type opt to stay in their marriage. It is based on what they believe in and what they have been taught to be right or wrong. This means that no matter the situation, they always bear in mind that there is a silver lining at the end of the tunnel.

Statistics have gone further and revealed that for those men who sincerely loved their wives, letting go and moving on from the love of their lives has been very hard. They often bear so much pain of grief and loss. It is hard for them to accept the fact that what they hoped would last a lifetime is not here anymore and therefore they have to move on and accept their fate which entail living without them.

Men do not all take the same time to heal. Some get over it within a matter of months and they are able to go back to the field to look for new fish to catch. For others, this becomes the hardest part of their lives. Some even take years before they can be able to even say a word to a woman due to the great heartbreak they underwent.

To add on to the above, there are other male figures who prefer to remain married due to the tiresome court processes involved. Taking into account the many charges accompanied by this process including child support, partner support, dividing of resources among others, preference is made for them to stay married as they do not have that high amount of cash to spend.

To sum up the above, divorce is a choice and each and every man has his own view on the above issue. To some, it is worth trying but to others it is a waste of time and a sign of weakness. Whatever the circumstance however, individuals should first take time to weigh their decision before any hasty moves are made.
