The state of Indiana only releases the copy if the one who requested it is the divorcees themselves or their immediate family. Others would have to secure a special request to gain access to the files of other people.

Going to the county clerk office to conduct a divorce records search is the recommended method in obtaining such document. But with the help of the Internet, the retrieval process has changed and improved. It is now easier and faster to request such document. With this, it has eliminated the need to go to any government office just to file the request. The request can be done anytime and anywhere Internet access is available making it convenient for most of the residents of Indiana.
